When being converted, The New Cottage was designed to facilitate and assist the less mobile and, more specifically, those who require the use of a wheelchair or walking aids.

The ramped entrance to the new cottage leads directly from the car-parking area in front of the cottage.

On the ground-floor, there is a fully furnished single-bedroom , a spacious shower-room with toilet both of which have the advantage of being suitable for less mobile guests and those who need the use of a wheelchair or walking aids. The shower-room with toilet, which has been designed with non-slip floor tiling, has a floor level shower area with appropriate aids, including a shower chair, if required. The toilet has been fitted with comfortable wheelchair transfer space and pull-down arm rests. The wash-basin is also suitably positioned.

The kitchen also has been fitted with non-slip flooring for guests' safety and convenience.
